Between appearance and substance, the surface presents itself as a threshold: a place where matter reveals itself and, at the same time, guards its own mystery. The velvet opacity of the fruit meets the enameled complexity of porcelain, generating a subtle tension between what is transitory and what endures, between the visible and the elusive. The work thus transcends mere material study to question the limits of perception and the elusive nature of beauty.
Sandra Chinelate is an Italian-Brazilian artist, trained in Letters, who finds in hyperrealist painting the privileged language for her research. Self-taught since childhood, she develops a painting sensitivity based on meticulous observation of reality, exploring light, matter, transparency, and depth through a technique capable of returning to subjects an extraordinary visual presence.
Her research focuses on the precision of detail and the perceptual complexity of things, transforming objects and compositions into visually intense experiences. Through refined balances of light, color, and perspective, Chinelate investigates what everyday gaze often overlooks, revealing hidden beauty in the texture of surfaces and in the relationship between shapes, volumes, and reflections.
Having moved to Italy, she pursues a personal artistic path where the technical rigor of hyperrealism intertwines with a deep aesthetic sensibility. She works mainly with oil paints and mixed media on canvas and panel.
Since 2005 she has exhibited in numerous solo and group exhibitions.
