Description from the seller
A ray of light descending from the heavens to discover, upon the night of the peoples of the earth, the corruption that lies in their darkness... Year 1711. Pp. (16), 214, (2); cm. 16.5 x 10. Contemporary binding in parchment mottled with a greenish color; spine-title label in red morocco. Printed on cheap paper, the sheets are slightly yellowed; the title page seems to be on different paper. A very little-known work, ignored by public libraries and by booksellers. The author is the English merchant, friend of Locke, Benjamin Furly (April 1636 – March 1714): a convinced Quaker since the birth of Quakerism, in this work he follows its thought, hoping for a return to the Church of the Primordial Times, without corruptions, guided by an uncompromising Puritanism and moral rigor.
