Tasting Notes

Appearance: Bright amber with elegant rose-gold highlights.

Nose: Expansive and complex, with rich citrus fruits, vanilla, toffee and chocolate. The combination of American oak ex-bourbon barrels and Spanish oak butts contributes delicate aromas of honey, winter spices and apricot, complemented by a subtle hint of liquorice in the background.

Palate: Balblair's signature citrus orchard character is followed by rich, creamy chocolate and layers of stewed apples and pears. Christmas pudding and warm vanilla sauce add further depth, richness and complexity to this beautifully matured whisky.

Finish: Long-lasting and gradually evolving into brighter tonalities. Sparkling orange and toasted coconut overtones are accompanied by the full-bodied sweetness of vanilla and caramel. A rich, elegant and celebratory finish.

History of the Distillery
The historic Balblair Distillery was established in 1790 and is one of Scotland's oldest working whisky distilleries.

Located in the Scottish Highlands, near the picturesque Dornoch Firth and Cambuscurrie Bay, the distillery is known for its exceptional location and traditional whisky-making heritage.

Balblair's original water source, the Allt Dearg burn, continues to supply the distillery with fresh, pure water from the surrounding hills.
For many years, Balblair followed a distinctive philosophy of releasing whiskies according to their vintage year rather than a conventional age statement.

Each vintage was carefully selected and bottled when the distillery considered it to have reached its ideal balance of maturity, complexity and character.
