For 1721 the country house was owned by Brigitta Geelvinck, widow of Mr. Albert Bentes. In April 1761 it came into the possession of the Thuret family.

“In the first ten years after purchase of the place, much of the estate was expended. A farmer’s house with stable and barn was built, while from the old farmer’s house a stable for six horses and a coach house was made. Locks were sunk and others were dug. A ‘kom’ and a pike pond were created and a bridge over the duck-pond built. Willows were planted along the moats, elsewhere Italian poplars appeared. Fences were set and hedges planted for the menagerie. A avenue arose toward the dome and by the pike pond. Plantings came behind the orchard. ‘The winding forest and the stiff little groves’ were dug up and planted. The kitchen garden was redescribed and ‘the land of the finch-bait’ turned over.

A garden of such an estate was unthinkable without decorations and so they rose. A sundial on a pedestal was placed and later there were ‘four arches around the circumference of the sphere’ added for embellishment. From ‘Driemond’ were taken two hard-stone vases with bas-relief figures, one: ‘the offering to Bacchus’, the other: ‘the offering to Ceres’. Furthermore, a Neptune figure was purchased, holding the trident, fashioned with a dolphin. These three pieces were the work of sculptor J. van Logteren. They found their place in the garden, Neptune at the end of the avenue, right opposite the dome.

The house also underwent improvements. The post for ‘the gold-leaf room, kitchen, etc. was elaborated and the hall and upper rooms paneled’. In the hall folding windows were installed.

Thus much was conceived and carried out before ‘Reijgersbroeck’ met the desires of the owners. When everything was completed to the required standard, a plan of the place was brought into the net. It could only present a well-kept whole, a delight both for the owners and for passersby.”

In 1787 the estate was plundered by the Prussians and ... the neighbors. It is unclear when the house was demolished. In 1953 there was still a gate with the name Reijgersbroek.
