Rosary - Saint John Paul II – Pontifical rosary with original case and commemorative tapestry – gift from - 2000-2010

A particularly evocative assemblage tied to Saint John Paul II, kept for years by an important Roman family and, according to family history, originating from a gift received on the occasion of a private audience.
The heart of the lot is a splendid pontifical rosary with white beads and finishes in gilded metal, complete with its original case bearing the pontifical coat of arms of John Paul II. The rosary has remained stored in the case, practically unused, and is presented in exceptional condition.
The central medal also bears the pontifical coat of arms; the gilded crucifix completes a devotional object closely linked to the memory of one of the most beloved Popes of the twentieth century.

What makes the lot even more special is the large commemorative tapestry dedicated to John Paul II, with the Pontiff’s portrait, the coat of arms, and the famous phrase:

“Mercy is needed so that every injustice in the world may find its end in the splendor of truth”
followed by the signature “Joannes Paulus PP. II.” Provenance: an important Roman family; received, according to what has been handed down by the family, on the occasion of a private audience.
