A monumental large-format crucifix created by El Arte Cristiano de Olot (Girona, Spain), a prestigious workshop specializing in traditional religious sculpture.
The figure of Christ stands out for the quality of its modelling, the expressiveness of the face, and the care taken with anatomical details, distinctive features of Olot's religious sculpture tradition.
Particularly notable are its glass eyes, which add depth and realism to the expression, as well as its polychromy and traditional finish.
The figure is made of a composite material, possibly wood pulp, commonly used in Olot's religious imagery production, although its exact composition has not been verified.
Dimensions:
- Cross: 90 cm high × 47 cm wide.
- Figure of Christ: 38 cm high × 30 cm from hand to hand.
- Total weight: 1,229 grams.
The figure of Christ is preserved in very good condition, with no noticeable breaks, maintaining its original details. The cross shows signs of aging and lacks the INRI inscription.
