Description from the seller
Description
A finely potted snuff bottle of compact, rounded form with short neck and neatly finished mouth. One side is delicately painted in soft famille rose enamels with a charming scene: a young child at play amid blossoming peonies, garden rockwork and a brightly plumed rooster — a motif symbolising good fortune, diligence and prosperity. The reverse bears fluid, finely written calligraphic inscriptions with accompanying seal marks, adding literary and scholarly refinement to the piece. A delightful and thoughtfully decorated example of traditional porcelain art.
