Theodorus Selhorst (Senior) was a Dutch painter who lived from 1891 to 1983. He was born in Utrecht and died in Arnhem. Selhorst is best known for his works in the classical, figurative style. His works are classically inspired and were usually executed as oil paintings on canvas or wood. He often signed his artworks with “T. H. Selhorst” or “Theodorus Selhorst.” In the art market, he often appears with the addition “Sr.” (Senior) to distinguish him from later generations.
His works are still regularly traded today on European art platforms and auction houses for prices between EUR 150 and 700.
