AI-assisted summary

Description from the seller

A very fine antique 4/4 violin, labeled Ferdinandus Gagliano filius Nicolai fecit Neap. 1793. The instrument is in ready to play condition with tears, wears, and some small repaired cracks on top, new fingerboard, good ebony and boxwood set up, new master made bridge and Obligato strings. The violin has an excellent straight high grained spruce of the top and two pieces back of strongly flamed maple with matched sides, neck and scroll. Rich golden amber varnish shows an amazing wooden choice. The whole length of the violin is 587 mm and the back 355 mm. The width of the upper bouts: 166 mm; middle bouts: 113 mm; lower bouts: 208 mm. Full size. This tonally extremely interesting instrument is now ready to play, and i recommend it highly for its powerful, warm and sweet sound full of typically Italian character. Shipping with DHL worldwide

Violins and bows described as 'certified' or 'attributed' include images of their certificates and are therefore considered to have a higher degree of documented certainty regarding maker, origin, and age than instruments described only as 'labelled' (violins) or 'stamped' (bows), for which we provide no guarantee of any kind
