Description from the seller
Description
A well-matched pair of porcelain vases of elegant lotus-bud form, finely potted with rounded ovoid bodies tapering to a slender neck and subtly flared mouth, rising from a clearly defined, neatly cut foot. Each vase is freely and vigorously painted in rich, saturated cobalt-blue with textured diapered ground panels enclosing luxuriant grapevines heavy with fruit and curling tendrils — the composition balanced and dynamic, with distinctive foliage and fruit rendered with characteristic Kangxi-period brushwork. The neck and foot are neatly framed with leaf and petal borders in harmonious proportion. A handsome, symmetrical pair displaying the vitality and technical refinement of Kangxi blue-and-white.
