Flavius Josephus - Histoire des Iuifs escrite par Flavius Ioseph - 1667-1668

“Histoire des Iuifs escrite par Flavius Ioseph”, 1667-1668.

Very rare Paris first edition in 2 volumes. With a title vignette, some woodcuts, and a folding map.

The pages of the first part are consistently somewhat spotted. At the beginning a bit more so, and there are a few edge spots in the upper area. At the start with a few light reinforcements on the back pages, these are, however, outside the text.

The second part also has a few spots, overall fewer than the first. The pages are mostly slightly browned.

The map has been rebound and pages 313/314 in the second part are missing.

The lower part of the last leaf in the first part was hand-written described.

Both bindings are worn, the hinges are cracked and the corners are bumped. The spines are brittle and there are slight gaps in the leather.
