Description from the seller
New Series – Multiplicity
David Law
Photographer Artist – Creator of contemporary imagery
Multidisciplinary photographer-artist, author and musician, David Law develops work centered on gaze, presence and the perception of imagery in urban space. He first became known for a series devoted to window mannequins, integrated into the city through a subtle play of reflections and superpositions. This exploration of gaze and presence gave birth to an art book published in 2021. Later intrigued by the singular aesthetics of collectible dolls and Japanese figurines, he continues this reflection by staging them in the streets of Paris and other European capitals. Through framing, light and composition, these inanimate models acquire a troubling, almost lifelike presence, challenging our relationship with illusion and projection.
New Series – Multiplicity
Multiplicity explores the multiplication of a female silhouette to infinity. Repeated, layered and absorbed by the backlight, the figures become a moving graphic matter. Faces disappear, leaving only bodies, shadows and lines. A hypnotic vision in which the individual becomes a multitude.
Edition & Fabrication
Each work is offered in a limited edition of 8 numbered copies + 4 artist’s proofs (A.P.), signed by the artist and accompanied by a certificate of authenticity. The prints are produced on aluminum with an integrated back mount. Printed on luminous white vinyl, mounted between two aluminum plates, with soft UV- and humidity-resistant lamination, ensuring excellent durability, long-term color stability, and a modern, contemporary look.
Parcours
Since 2014, David Law has participated in about twenty Contemporary Art fairs per year in France and Europe. He is also the official photographer and videographer for several organizers of contemporary art fairs. Alongside his visual activity, he develops authorial and musical work including 3 novels, a collection of short stories, a graphic novel, a photo book and 5 self-produced CDs. A singer-guitarist, he currently performs with the band FRENZY.
