A distinctive and atmospheric religious triptych, crafted in wood and richly decorated with gold-colored/gilded finish.
At the center is a hand-painted depiction of Mary with the Child Jesus, executed in traditional Orthodox/Byzantine iconographic style. The two hinged doors on the inside feature multiple small religious scenes and images of saints, including rider saints. The outer sides of the doors are hand-painted with decorative floral and rose motifs.
The whole piece has a very decorative and authentic appearance. The gilding, painting, and the wood show clear signs of age and use, such as wear, small damages, scratches, and patina. These features contribute to the object's character and appearance.
The back side and the old mounting are also still present.
Dimensions closed: approx. 26 cm high × 21 cm wide × 6 cm deep
Fully opened width: approx. 30 cm
Weight: approx. 800 grams
