Societies absorb us. For better or for worse, the reach of technological tools and our dependence on them diminishes the development of an individual's personality. While some manage to use these media to amplify their personality, for most they represent tools that distort abstract values such as growth, happiness, or belonging.
In the cycle of life, I take two supposedly dissimilar extremes, birth and death, and make them the point of convergence in an infinite loop. You can see in the center, when we are supposed to have developed our mind and soul, that this is when we are most "encapsulated," when we are least "ourselves." The cycle of life is a visually simple piece, but conceptually profound and personal. You can experience this piece by viewing it from the perspective of society, as part of the whole, or as the individual who dares, at least for moments, to try to be themselves.
