Description from the seller
Hand-carved wooden crucifix with a crucified Christ – a piece of sacred art
Handcrafted in its nature, this crucifix features a figure of Christ crucified on a large wooden cross with elaborately carved geometric and ornamental details hand-worked.
The piece stands out especially for the wood-carved background work. Triangular motifs, radial compositions, ornate edges, and the various decorative reliefs are created directly on the wood. The contrast between light and dark areas highlights the relief, depth, and richness of the craftsmanship, creating a visually striking whole.
In the center is the figure of Christ crucified, with a crown of thorns, the mantle of purity, and the wounds represented in the traditional way.
The cross presents an unconventional silhouette, with widened side arms and a longer lower base. The combination of the sculpture of Christ with the elaborate ornamental woodwork gives the piece a distinctive personality and a pronounced devotional character.

Shows little wear and superficial, such as a few marks, small irregularities. These details contribute to its antique and artisanal character.
