The work depicts a suggestive coastal scene.
Two elegant women dressed in period clothes dating from the Belle Époque or the Edwardian era. One wears a pink dress with a floral basket in her hand, while the other wears a white dress and is depicted holding a closed red parasol.
At the center of the composition are two splendid specimens of Borzoi (the Russian Wolfhound), dogs historically associated with aristocracy, portrayed with their long, wavy coats, white with dark patches.
A beach lapped by crested waves, beneath a bright sky veiled with clouds, where a seagull can be seen in flight.
