Description from the seller
Barons de Rothschild Blanc de Blancs embodies the House’s signature style: a pure, luminous and supremely elegant champagne, made exclusively from Chardonnay. The grapes come mainly from the Grands Crus and Premiers Crus of the Côte des Blancs, particularly around Avize, Cramant, Le Mesnil-sur-Oger and Oger – chalky terroirs renowned for bringing out the tension, finesse and minerality of this grape variety.
This Blanc de Blancs champagne reveals an alluring nose, blending white fruits such as apple and pear with citrus, brioche notes and subtle buttery hints. On the palate, it captivates with its delicate texture, controlled liveliness and a lingering, slightly salty finish that highlights the purity of the Chardonnay.
Thanks to ageing on lees for at least three and a half years and the inclusion of reserve wines in the blend, this cuvée gains in complexity whilst retaining remarkable freshness. Its style is both festive and gastronomic, suited to special occasions as well as refined aperitifs.
Serve it at around 8 to 10 °C to preserve its brilliance and aromas. It pairs perfectly with a seafood platter, oysters, scallops, lobster, delicately cooked fish or fresh goat’s cheese. Ready to drink now, it can also be cellared for a few years under the right conditions to develop further pastry-like notes and maturity.
