群青 (Gunjo) — meaning “ultramarine” or “deep blue” in Japanese — is an immersion into the boundless depth of color, where blue ceases to be a hue and becomes a state of being. In this work, contemporary artist VITYRA renders the silence of distance — a horizon without edge, a stillness that folds the infinite into the intimate.

Measuring 100 × 140 cm, the piece is composed of mixed media and ultramarine pigment on canvas. The surface unfolds as a vast monochrome field, its layers breathing in slow gradation — a spectrum of blues that shift between presence and disappearance. At close view, subtle tonal undulations and mineral textures emerge, like sedimentary traces suspended in air or water.

群青 evokes the eternal between sea and sky, a realm beyond measure. It is the color of meditation and longing, the depth that absorbs rather than reflects. Here, blue becomes both distance and memory — a vessel for silence.

As with all works by VITYRA, the piece rests within the philosophy of wabi-sabi — revering impermanence, quietude, and the beauty of what can never be fully grasped. 群青 is not about color, but about the stillness that color leaves behind.

This original painting by VITYRA is discreetly hand-signed on the reverse side to preserve the purity of the artwork’s surface and comes with a Certificate of Authenticity. VITYRA is represented by S-Gallery, a well-known gallery for Viennese boundary-pushing contemporary artists. The artwork will be shipped rolled in a secure, protective tube—an eco-friendly and safe method that reduces shipping costs and risk of damage. The canvas measures 100 x 140 cm, with an extra 5 cm border on each side for easy re-stretching. Frame placement is lightly marked on the back to assist precise mounting.
