AI-assisted summary

Description from the seller

Mid-Century Modern "Rimini Blu" / "Trifoglio" Ceramic Bowl/Ashtray by Aldo Londi for Bitossi, 1960s – 20 cm

An iconic mid-century modern ceramic piece designed by the Italian master ceramicist Aldo Londi (1911–2009) for the renowned manufacturer Bitossi Ceramiche, Italy.

This large 20 cm model features the highly collectable and distinctive deep turquoise-blue glaze, beautifully contrasted with green accents in a stamped flower/clover motif (often referred to as the Trifoglio or Moroccan Hearts variation).

The vibrant glazed interior stands in striking opposition to the rough, unglazed dark brown clay body, embodying the perfect blend of Mediterranean charm and Brutalist texture typical of Londi's most celebrated work from the 1960s.

An excellent addition for collectors of Italian art pottery and Mid-Century Modern design.

Condition:
Good vintage condition. The central blue-green glazed area is in vibrant condition with minor wear. There are some signs of age consistent with use (minor fleabites / small chips) on the raw, brown exposed clay of the outer rim and near one of the notches.

Due to the intentional rustic, Brutalist texture of the raw clay, these imperfections do not detract from the overall aesthetic appeal of the piece.
