AI-assisted summary

Description from the seller

ohne Blick

Oil on canvas | 60 × 60 cm

A lowered head, a face that avoids direct eye contact. The figure seems to hover between presence and retreat. Its identity and the situation remain undefined.

Intense orange, red, and pink hues surround the darkened face. The unusual color palette and the tight crop give the portrait an unsettling presence.

The face is only partly recognizable. Individual features emerge, others disappear into the dark color fields. It is precisely this that creates a tension between visibility and concealment.

"ohne Blick" is a contemporary figurative painting that places human expression at the center without prescribing a particular story or emotional state.

Original painting, oil on canvas, 60 × 60 cm.

About me:
"My painting moves at the boundary between figuration and abstraction — a tension-filled dialogue of expressive gesture, intense color worlds, and intuitive dynamism.
Inspired by the energy of abstract expressionism, which moves between body and dissolution, chaos and harmony."
Each work is a process of questioning and rediscovery:
Lines break through surfaces.
Figures appear and disappear again.
An emotionally charged dance between control and releasing.

Mila Veljac'a is a visual artist of Croatian origin. She trained at art academies in Croatia, Vienna, Salzburg, and Stuttgart and spent several years sharing her expertise as a lecturer in visual arts.
