Description from the seller
Mother of God of Kazan – Ornate Silver-Toned Religious Icon with Gilded Halo
A finely detailed Christian devotional icon depicting the Mother of God of Kazan with the Christ Child, distinguished by its richly embossed silver-toned surface, gilded halos and delicate polychrome accents.
The icon features an elaborate metal relief covering with intricate floral ornamentation, detailed religious scenes in the four corners and a prominent gilded halo embellished with red, blue and white accents.
The expressive faces of the Virgin Mary and Christ Child provide a striking contrast to the richly textured metallic surface. The composition reflects the traditional Byzantine-influenced iconographic style, Printed image.
The reverse is finished in red velvet with a metal fitting for wall display.
Good decorative condition, with light surface wear and minor traces of age. The embossed ornamentation, gilded details and coloured accents remain visually well defined.
It will be shipped exactly as shown in the photographs, so please examine all images carefully.
