Description from the seller
Wil Willemsen (1943) is fascinated by people. People on the street, at their work and during sport. Also in this work Willemsen has placed the gathering of people at the center, which, in light of the present time, immediately carries a deeper resonance. All of this makes this imposing, colorful, original work a true showpiece for any living room.
Willemsen looks at how people relate to each other within a group. As early as at the Pedagogical Academy, Wil Willemsen learned to observe and deduce sharply. She noted the methods people use to communicate and to distinguish themselves in the group or, conversely, to establish contacts. She discovers the language of the body. These observations have led to well-considered image compositions in her work, in which people, in a somewhat abstracted form, take the lead.
