Description from the seller
Two beautiful large screen prints by Richard Smeets. Both measure 120 x 92 cm. Ideal to hang side by side and brighten up the room.
Richard Smeets (Gennep, 1955) his work can so far be divided into three periods. In the first period the woman is central to his work; in the second his journeys to Indonesia and Malaysia are his sources of inspiration, and in the third—the current period—he focuses on the Dutch landscape. These periods show the development of the artist who, while traveling, makes little to no sketches. Smeets stores the impressions in his memory and translates them in his studio onto canvas or paper. His artworks come to life in three stages: experience becomes memory, memory becomes dream, and dream becomes matter in paint and color.
