AI-assisted summary

Description from the seller

Savonarola chair in curved wood, with a fluid closing motion. Referred to as 'icasse' due to its X-shaped construction, likely inspired by Romanesque style, used mainly in noble residences. The term Savonarola derives from the name Girolamo Savonarola (1452-1498), during whose time this type of chair would have existed, preserved in his cell at the San Marco convent in Florence, where he lived from 1482 until his death.
It is equipped with pins that allow it to fold and store in tight spaces and with a backrest that can be installed with a notch. The latter is finely carved and the ends of the armrests feature lion heads.
In the last photo the small defects present are visible.
