This stunning oil on canvas work is attributed to the maritime art of neo-impressionist style with clear influences from post-impressionism and fauvism, standing out for an exuberant chromatic display where the incandescent warmth of yellows, oranges, and carmine tones of the sunset contrasts dramatically with the cool blues and turquoises of the sea and sky. The composition captures a dynamic regatta of sailing ships whose masts and triangular sails of vivid colors reflect the sunlight, while the surface of the water comes alive with rhythmic and impasto strokes that multiply the golden glints of the setting sun. Through a gestural and energetic brushstroke full of texture, the artist manages to convey the majesty of nature in motion, evoking emotions of freedom, vitality, and the glorious serenity of a nautical journey wrapped in the warm light of twilight.
