Genie pocket watch with a lepine Swiss case in 0.8000 silver, dating from 1900–1949, manual winding movement, 50 mm case diameter, 82 g, in very good condition with minor signs of wear, dial white with Roman numerals and Louis XV steel gold hands, in working order and shipped insured.
Description from the seller
Family-owned pocket watch Genie Patent, chronométric, very well preserved and showing only minimal signs of wear consistent with its age. It has seen little use and was last professionally serviced in 2024. A beautiful and well-maintained example, ready to be enjoyed by its next owner.
Brand: Genie Swiss Watches
lepine case, Swiss, hallmark grouse (0.8000 silver).
The case is more characteristic of late Art Deco / the transition into the post-war period than of the Art Deco style of the 1920s–1940s. The back cover features elaborate hand-engraved floral decoration, with scrolling foliage and stylised flowers arranged around a central blank cartouche. The intricate engraving combines finely cut outlines with textured shading, creating a rich ornamental pattern.
The combination of case + dial is particularly coherent:
Movement produced by Genie, Swiss, Frosting bridge finishing surfaces, crown at 12 o'clock.
White dial, Roman numerals, Luis XV steel gold hands, seconds at 6 o'clock. The dial exhibits fine hairline marks consistent with age.
As this is a vintage mechanical watch, I can confirm that it is in perfect working order. However, I cannot guarantee its timekeeping accuracy.
