Description from the seller
Remo Brindisi (1918–1996)
Kiss
In this work, the artist of Abruzzese origin displays an Expressionist style alongside features associated with Pop Art.
The painting depicts two figures in an intimate gesture, marked by a spare composition and intense color contrast. The faces, rendered with bold black outlines and flat areas of coral pink, white, and ochre yellow, create an image with a powerful visual impact.
Remo Brindisi trained in Rome and Urbino, but was particularly attached to Lido di Spina, where he died in 1996. His House Museum is located there; it opened in 1973 and is now dedicated to his collection and artistic career.
The frame has color stains and slight signs of wear consistent with the passage of time and appropriate to its age. The canvas also has a slight bulge near the upper-right corner.
