Description from the seller
Sony Handycam CCD-TR780E Video Hi8 Camcorder – Working Set with AC-V25C Adapter & Remote Control
Up for auction is a beautifully preserved Sony Handycam CCD-TR780E Video Hi8 / Video8 camcorder, precision-crafted in Japan. This classic 1990s analogue camcorder is in exceptional cosmetic condition and comes as a complete, fully tested working set. It represents an ideal turnkey solution for vintage camera collectors, retro video creators, or individuals looking for a reliable device to digitize their precious family archive tapes.
The lot features the original Sony AC-V25C AC Power Adaptor & Charger, which clips directly onto the back of the camera. This setup allows for continuous, permanent power directly from a wall outlet, eliminating any dependency on old batteries. It is a critical feature for safe, uninterrupted tape playback and digital transfer sessions. The lot also includes the fully operational original Sony RMT-708 wireless remote control to easily manage and navigate your playback.
Included in this lot:
• Camcorder: Sony Handycam CCD-TR780E (PAL)
• Power Supply: Sony AC-V25C AC Power Adaptor & Charger
• Cables: Original AC power mains cable
• Remote Control: Sony RMT-708 Video 8 Remote
• Battery: Original Sony rechargeable battery
Condition Report
• Cosmetic Condition: Near Mint. The body casing shows virtually no wear, with remarkably clean buttons and intact labels.
• Optics & Lens: Pristine. The front Sony Video Lens (Optical 12x, f=1:1.8) is completely crystal clear—free from scratches, dust, or any signs of fungus. The Hi-Fi Stereo microphone grille is also flawless.
• Technical Condition: Fully functional. The mechanical tape transport system loads, plays, rewinds, and fast-forwards smoothly. The unit powers up perfectly via the AC adapter, and all remote control actions work as intended.
• Battery Note: The original Sony rechargeable battery is included in the lot. Please note that due to its age, its capacity is significantly degraded/reduced. It serves as an excellent piece to complete the original vintage aesthetic, but purchasing a modern replacement battery is highly recommended if you intend to shoot outside or on the go. For indoor playback, archiving, and digitization, the included AC adapter provides flawless, endless power.
