A three-piece silver-plated coffee service from the Netherlands by Leonard Silverplate, dating to 1940–1950, comprising a tall coffee pot, a wider teapot and a sugar pot with lid, all in good used condition with minor signs of aging, dimensions approximately 24 cm high, 26 cm wide, 10 cm deep.
Description from the seller
• Style (Queen Anne / Georgian): Characteristic of this traditional model is the fluted/ribbed lower body on each piece. This is a very recognizable pattern that was produced by many well-known silver and metal works (mainly from Sheffield, England, or brands such as Leonard Silverplate).
• The handles: The sleek, angular black handles are made of ebonite or bakelite (early plastic or treated wood). This was widely used from the early 20th century onward to prevent the pourer from burning their fingers on the hot pot.
The shown set consists of a taller coffee pot branded Leonard, a wider teapot branded Daalderop, and a sugar pot with lid, branded Leonard.
