This pair of Belgian miners’ lamps dates from 1970–1980 and is made of bronze, metal and brass.
Description from the seller
Beautiful pair of two historic mining lamps that beautifully illustrate the evolution of underground lighting in mining. A splendid set for both the collector of industrial archaeology and the enthusiast of unique interior decoration.
1. Classic safety lamp (Left): An iconic model safety lamp, crafted in brass and metal. This lamp is fitted with a metal plaque bearing the number 12. The lamp has in the past been expertly modified so that it can safely burn a tealight/candlestick now. This makes it a unique and atmospheric focal point for the living room, with the robust look of yesteryear.
2. Electric miner's lamp (Right): A heavy, authentic electric hand lamp from the early 20th century (ca. 1920-1940). This model has a heavy cylindrical housing for the battery and a metal protective cage around the original glass window with the early filament lamp. Equipped with a brass identification plate bearing the number 644. Beautiful, unspoiled original condition with a very nicely lived patina.
Condition:
In good, used vintage condition with a wonderful authentic patina and normal signs of aging that contribute to the industrial character. See the photos for an accurate impression of the details and the state.
