Joanny Arlin (1830-1906) - La scène pastorale

Very beautiful and important oil on canvas by the French painter Joanny Arlin (1830-1906).

Born in Lyon in 1830 and died in 1906, Joanny Arlin was a recognized 19th-century landscape painter, part of the French naturalist tradition.

The work depicts a lively pastoral landscape: a winding path crosses a verdant valley, animated by cattle and figures near a river.

The whole is presented in an antique gilt wooden frame.

Some craquelure but no damage to the painting, just a few signs of aging on the back of the canvas.

87 × 72 cm with the frame.

The frame is in good condition, probably gold leaf gilded. Just a few losses of stucco.
