European school (XIX) - Escena campestre

A costumbrista scene with muleteers and carts.
Painting: 42 × 25 cm. Overall with frame: 50 × 34 cm.
Horizontal composition depicting a gathering of people in traditional dress in a rural setting. In the foreground, several men cluster beside a donkey; in the background appear women, horses, and covered carts, with trees and buildings in the distance. A small dog completes the scene on the right.
The loose brushwork and warm tones, combined with greens and blues, give vibrancy to the whole.
It features a dark, moulded wooden frame, with wear and losses to the finish.
