Cesare Pelagatti (1890-1971) - Composizione autunnale

Autumnal composition 50x70 with a frame
Cesare Pelagatti (Livorno, 1890 – Livorno, 1971) was an Italian painter and draftsman, an exponent of the Livorno post-Macchiaioli tradition.
Together with artists active in the Tuscan territory, he predominantly portrayed landscapes, seascapes, and genre scenes tied to his homeland.
He was also the father of the well-known Livorno painter Dino Pelagatti (1930–2016), who initially followed in his footsteps en plein air before developing an autonomous style.
His works periodically appear on the art market and in Italian auction houses (such as Farsetti Arte or Fabiani Arte).
Among his best-known paintings are local views and portraits such as "Via delle Vignacce, Montenero", "Livorno vecchia" and "Pescatore di granchi"
