AI-assisted summary

Description from the seller

Beautiful vintage Japanese Satsuma table lamp, produced in the mid-20th century (ca. 1950-1970). The ceramic base is executed in the traditional Satsuma style and richly decorated with the well-known Moriage technique (relief enamel).
The vase shows a highly detailed, hand-painted depiction of traditional geishas in colorful kimonos against a mountainous landscape. Very elegant and high-contrast, set against a rarer matte black background (black ground), finished with refined gold details. The vase is mounted on a matching wooden base and converted into a atmospheric lamp base.
Important note for bidders:
• This lot concerns only the lamp base. The bulb and the lampshade seen in the overview photo are not included. The shown shade is for illustration only and does not fit correctly on the current frame.

The lamp is fitted with a brass socket with an integrated white switch and a classic European plug. The wiring runs centrally through the base and is functional. The copper frame under the socket was manually bent at the time to make room for the switch (see photos).

Please view the photos carefully for an accurate impression of the condition of this lot. What is not mentioned in the text, but visible in the photos, is considered as described.
