Rom av.JC - Dea Hera

Dea Hera – Rom av.JC – Original work on skateboard

Dea Hera is an original work created by the French artist Rom av.JC (Romain Hurdequint), from an old damaged skateboard deck, transformed into an artistic medium.

Inspired by the iconography of ancient Greece, this creation depicts Hera, queen of the gods of Olympus and goddess of marriage and family.

The portrait, drawn in black on the natural wood, evokes classical engravings and representations. The figure is deliberately interrupted by several zones of missing material, restored with resin, cutting across her face.

These fragments, hinting at colors and textures from the skateboard's former life, create a dialogue between destruction and reconstruction, past and present.

Through his world of fictitious archaeology, Rom av.JC transforms used skateboards into contemporary relics, combining ancient mythology, urban culture, and material reuse.
