Work from a personal donation of Patrice Hugues in the 1980s to a Parisian couple of friends who settled in Normandy.

The verso of the work bears no label or commercial inscription.

About Patrice Hugues

Trained in painting in Fernand Léger’s workshop, Patrice Hugues later studied history at the Sorbonne before dedicating himself fully to artistic creation.

His work gradually evolved toward an original exploration of fabric, weave, printing and motif. From the late 1960s and early 1970s, he notably experimented with spray painting through weaves and canvases.
