Description from the seller

The 6-piece Collection of Japanese Imari Vases, Bowls & Plate

Reserve price € 112,-

6-piece collection of Japanese Imari (Kinrande) export porcelain – Meiji period (c. 1880–1910) – Richly hand-painted with symbols of luck

A harmonious ensemble of six antique Japanese Imari porcelain pieces, crafted during the Meiji period (1868-1912) in the Arita region for the European export market. All objects are hand-worked in the classic, rich Kinrande palette (underglaze cobalt blue, overglaze iron-red, and refined gold accents). All pieces display unmistakable characteristics of authentic, artisanal 19th-century production. The undersides show the characteristic unglazed stand rings with original kiln iron discolorations, clear three-point prow marks (spur marks / impressions of the refractory kiln supports), the elongated kiln support impressions under the bottle vases, and the original remnants of historic kiln sand on the stands.

The collection consists of:
* Pair (2 pieces) slender long-necked vases: Elegant vases with a rounded body and very slender necks, finely decorated with floral motifs and butterflies.
* Dimensions: Height: 18 cm | Body diameter: 8.5 cm | Foot diameter: 4 cm | Mouth diameter: 2 cm.
* Set of 2 graduated fluted oval dishes: A beautiful, size-differentiated pair of serving dishes with geometric floral motifs and an elegant fluted rim.
* Dimensions: large dish: Height: 5.5 cm | Length: 21.5 cm | Width: 18 cm.
* Dimensions: small dish: Height: 5 cm | Length: 18 cm | Width: 15 cm.
* 1x Ribbed baluster vase: Delicate miniature vase with a flared collar, perfect to position in the center of the display.
* Dimensions: Height: 16 cm | Top diameter: 6.5 cm | Foot diameter: 5.5 cm.
* 1x Fluted deep dish / plate:
* Large, deep plate featuring a central diamond-shaped medallion. The back is hand-painted with the stylized bat motif (Kōmori) for luck and the tied scroll (Makimono) for wisdom and knowledge.
* Dimensions: Height: 4 cm | Rim diameter: 24.5 cm | Foot diameter: 15 cm.
