A unique, 100% complete series of 6 vintage medical anatomy plates issued by the renowned Imexa-Holland from Tiel. These high-quality plates were supplied in the 1970s and 1980s to medical practices, physiotherapy clinics and medical education. The series is based on the world-renowned, iconic American medical illustrations by, among others, top illustrator Peter Bachin and Joseph J. Mandiberg M.D. (The Anatomical Chart Company).
It is extremely rare to find this specific series in such a complete, uninterrupted compilation.
The set consists of the following 6 thematic plates:
1. The Skeletal System: The complete human skeleton (anterior, posterior and lateral views) including details of the auditory ossicles and bone structure.
2. The Muscular System: The entire human musculature (anterior and posterior) with an extensive numbered index (1 through 47).
3. Hand and Wrist: Anatomy of the hand and wrist, carpal tunnel syndrome and pathology of various fractures (including Boxer's & Smith's fracture).
4. Shoulder and Elbow: Joint mechanics (supination/pronation), rotator cuff injuries and a vintage sports illustration of tennis elbow.
5. Hip and Knee: Orthopedic surgery (total hip arthroplasty, fracture fixation) and knee sports injuries (the infamous 'Unhappy Triad').
6. Foot and Ankle: Anatomy of the foot, foot deformities (flatfoot/high arches) and surgical fixations with plates and screws.
Condition report:
The entire set is in excellent vintage condition. The plates have always been stored with the utmost care. The colours are bright and fresh, the material is not yellowed and there are no tears, deep creases or damage at the metal hanging rings. All English medical terminology is perfectly legible.
