Unisex 18K yellow gold aubergine-shaped pendant in natural Type A jadeite (jadeite), NGTC certificate F-SDZQ266101, pendant weight 5.8 g, with a colour-matching stainless steel necklace included as a gift.
Description from the seller
The item is shipped from within the EU.
A charming jadeite pendant in a soft light purple, hand-carved as an aubergine and finished with an 18K gold bail. It is certified by NGTC as natural Type A jadeite (Feicui), with the gold confirmed as Au750.
The aubergine is carved with a full, gently curving body and smooth, generously rounded contours, topped by a small carved cap and stem. Subtle raised ridges follow the length of the fruit, and the high polish gives the surface a silky, luminous sheen. It is substantial in the hand yet comfortable to wear.
The colour is a delicate, even light purple, a soft lavender tone that is among the most sought-after colours in jadeite and naturally suits the aubergine motif. Subtle hints of green appear in places, adding to its natural character. The certificate notes a fibrous interwoven structure, which is characteristic of genuine jadeite.
The 18K gold bail is designed as small leaves resting on top of the carving, completing the aubergine’s form, and its warm gold contrasts beautifully with the cool purple of the stone.
In Chinese culture, the aubergine (茄, qié) is an auspicious motif. Its name echoes 加 (jiā, “to add”), so it is associated with 加官進爵, a wish for promotion, advancement and growing success. Purple is linked with 紫氣東來, the auspicious purple aura that heralds good fortune. Combined with jadeite, long treasured as a stone of protection and harmony, the piece carries a meaningful message.
Type A jadeite is natural and has not been bleached, polymer-impregnated or dyed, so its colour and texture are entirely its own. This is an elegant piece that works well for everyday wear and special occasions alike.
A colour-matching stainless steel necklace is included as a gift, so the pendant is ready to wear straight away.
