My aim with this piece was not only to represent a sailboat, but to encapsulate the visceral sensation of being at sea. I have used acrylic for its versatility and fast drying, which has allowed me to work with layers and textures that reflect light and the constant mutability of the water's surface. The abstract shapes of the sail and the sky invite the viewer to complete the scene with their own imagination, turning the work into a portal to the calm and the power of nature.
