Description from the seller
Remarkable two-sided poster of two French cycling champions from the 1950s, who both became world champions: André Darrigade in 1959 in Zandvoort and Louison Bobet in 1954 in Solingen. Darrigade rose to fame as a sprinter in the Tour de France, where he won as many as 22 stages and the green jersey twice. Louison Bobet, like Bernard Hinault, managed to win the Tour de France three times. Bobet died in 1983 at the age of 58. André Darrigade is at 97 years old one of the few surviving cycling greats of his generation. This beautiful double-sided poster served as an annex to the former French cycling magazine Miroir du Cyclisme, which is generally regarded as the finest cycling magazine ever. There is also an original photo card of André Darrigade, which he personally hand-signed.
