MEDSAN - Cloud Strife at the Gas Station (ガソリンスタンドのクラウド・ストライフ) - UNIQUE WORK

ONLY ONE IN THE WORLD EXISTS - EDITION 1/1

In this landscape format, Medsan stops Cloud Strife, the hero of Final Fantasy VII, at the edge of a country road, in front of an old gas station, at the hour when the sun slides behind the hills. Blond, spiky hair, shoulder pad and black outfit, he stands with his back to us, head tilted and eyes lowered toward the ground, as if lost in thought. His great sword, the Buster Sword, rests against the last of the three chipped red pumps, each topped with a white globe marked “GAS.” To the right, the lit storefront window reveals a hanging lamp and shelves loaded with goods, beside the words FUEL, OIL, TIRES, SERVICE inscribed on the white wall with a red stripe, while a wooden bench waits under the awning.
On the left, the road stretches toward the horizon between power poles and dark pines, and a sign announces NEXT TOWN 20 MILES. The sky shifts from burnt orange to violet, and the warm glow of the storefront lengthens the shadows on the concrete. A solitary stop, just before resuming the road.

A narrative and melancholic piece, perfect for adding a touch of cinematic pop culture to a collector’s interior, both a video game enthusiast and contemporary art admirer.
