MEDSAN - Space Cobra Spring Journey (コブラの春の旅) - UNIQUE WORK

THERE IS ONLY ONE IN THE WORLD - EDITION 1/1

On this square format, Medsan places Cobra, the pirate from Space Adventure Cobra, at the top of a curved Japanese wooden bridge, beneath a blooming cherry tree. We see him from behind, standing in his red suit and black boots, his blonde mane tousled and the cigar at his lips. His left arm ends in the black barrel of the Psychogun, his right hand hanging near his hip. He contemplates the valley at dusk: a river where sailboats glide, villages with dark roofs, a red pagoda on a cliff covered with pines and, in the distance, the snowy Mount Fuji, beside a pale sun sinking low.
Pink petals fall onto the gray planks of the bridge. At the top right, a vertical black character cartouche bears a red seal 日本. At the bottom left, 春の旅 is read above a second seal. The pink of the cherry blossoms, the red of the suit, and the mauve of the sky dominate. It is a silent stop before the next departure.

A unique piece with the scent of a cult manga, ideal for bringing a touch of Japanese spring to the interior of a collector fond of 80s animation.

About Medsan / Popsan:
Medsan and Popsan are two signatures of a single artist. Under the name Medsan, he explores medicine and anatomy; under Popsan, he revisits pop culture icons by blending pop art, Japanese art, and anachronisms. On Catawiki, his pop works still appear under the name Medsan, but they belong to the Popsan universe. He creates at Atelier Joconde, a family artist workshop, alongside artists Le Yack (figurative painting) and Neo Pablo (abstraction).
