“Saint Anthony of Padua – The Saint of the Lilies” is an intensely spiritual work dedicated to Saint Anthony of Padua, one of the most loved figures of the Christian tradition, here depicted according to his most celebrated iconography, beside the Baby Jesus and accompanied by the symbol of purity represented by the lilies.

The Saint dominates the center of the composition enveloped in the traditional Franciscan habit, simple and austere, cinched at the waist with a cord. The young, gathered face is turned with sweetness toward the Baby Jesus, who sits between his arms and returns the gaze with a gesture of tender closeness.
