Description from the seller
Title: Little Companions of Dreams
Artist: M. Perone
Technique: Oil on canvas
Dimensions: 40 x 30 cm
A girl with long blonde hair sits with her knees drawn up, flanked by two small cats. Her face is turned upward and her gaze seems to follow something beyond the edge of the frame, introducing a sense of anticipation and wonder. The light concentrates on the forehead, the cheeks, and the curls, which stretch to the left in a gentle motion, separating from the dark background.
The blue overalls, marked by folds and small chromatic irregularities, contrast with the warm red of the sweater and with the brown tones of the tied boots. These concrete details give the scene a daily, spontaneous character. On either side of the girl, the kittens with white, fawn, and brown fur echo with their expressions the affectionate tension of the composition. A thick rope and the wooden floor suggest a rustic setting, barely hinted at. The work thus builds a small childhood tale, grounded in the closeness between the girl and the animals and in the sweetness of a moment shared.
