About the painting:
This is a vibrant and colorful acrylic painting depicting a two-story tropical house or villa. The house features a striking yellow facade, accented by bright blue doors and window shutters. It has two levels, with an upper balcony supported by white columns and lined with a light blue railing. The steps leading up to the main entrance are painted in bold shades of orange and white. A terracotta-tiled roof with dark blue trim crowns the structure. A playful and unexpected element is a zebra standing on the upper balcony, looking out toward the viewer between the shutters. The house is nestled in lush, tropical greenery. Large palm trees frame the upper left and right corners of the canvas. At the base of the house, there are dense green bushes, vibrant pink flowers in pots and garden beds, and broad-leafed tropical plants. The painting has a naive, folk-art aesthetic, characterized by bold outlines, a rich palette of primary and warm tropical colors, and a slightly flattened perspective that gives it a charming, whimsical feel.
About the artist:
My name is Corina Madalina Schröder. I was born in Timisoara, Romania, in 1969 and grew up in the Satu Mare region (Transylvania). I came to Germany at the age of 43. I lived and worked there in Bad Säckingen am Rhein until 2023. The direct proximity to the Swiss border, the central location in Europe and the diversity of the people there gave me many creative influences and so I painted in a very modern and lively way and was able to present my pictures in many exhibitions. (including Germany, Belgium, Italy and Switzerland).
In June 2023 I moved with my husband to beautiful, sunny Spain, to Benijofar, south of Alicante. Here, strongly influenced by the wonderful sea, the great light, the friendliness of the people and the Mediterranean atmosphere, my passion for painting received new impulses.
I love painting. Even as a child, I was fascinated by using pens and brushes. I always went forward courageously, learned a lot and my artistic talent was born into me through my mother, who was a painter and art teacher. So I started not only painting but also creating all sorts of things. Be it sewing, knitting and modeling with clay. I love individual design and today especially expressive painting.
Especially in today's fast-paced times, where people are quick to evaluate and harshly comment, I find it particularly important to be able to calmly and calmly indulge in the joy of one's own creativity. Without “right or wrong” but just completely ME...
Since the beginning, my works have been exhibited in several german and international exhibitions, art salons and galleries, such as: Brugge, Madrid, Venice, Bucarest, Basel, London, Paris etc...
