Description from the seller

Superb Art Deco Sphere Vase – Signed R. Mauclet – Circa 1925
General description :
Authentic vase from the Art Deco period (100 years) in a spherical blown glass form, heavy and thick. The body of the piece is made of smoked glass frosted by meticulous sandblasting, offering a superb satin and velvety appearance that beautifully catches the light.
It features a rich, hand-painted, polychrome enamel relief floral design in high relief (granulated/textured enamel), depicting large stylized steel-blue flowers with orange centers, complemented by foliage in autumn tones. The flared neck is outlined with a graphic black border typical of the era.
The piece is signed on the side “R. Mauclet” in gray enamel, the signature perfectly neat and catalogued. For its creations, Raymond Mauclet’s decoration workshop frequently partnered with famous master glassmakers of the time, such as Leune or Legras, who supplied him with high-quality raw glass bases.
Detailed condition analysis :
The object has undergone meticulous examination and is in very good century-old condition:
• UV Test: A full pass with the ultraviolet lamp confirms the absence of any modern restoration, cosmetic work, or recutting. The vase is 100% original (see photo under UV light).
• The neck: The structure is perfectly intact. Very slight surface wear of the era-black color on the border is noted. An infinitesimal micro-detail is present on the upper edge: it is so discreet that it is barely detectable to the touch when running a finger over it (see close-up on the dedicated photo).
• The enameled decoration: The raised enamel is magnificent and very well preserved. The slight variations and material losses visible at the base of the petals are original and linked to artisanal firing in a workshop a century ago. As the vase is curved, its most prominent portion shows no wear from rubbing or handling.
Physical characteristics :
• Height: 22 cm
• Weight: 1.681 kg
• Maximum circumference: ~65 cm
• Origin: France (Paris)
Shipping & Delivery :
• Ultra-secure and professional shipping.
• The vase will benefit from highly protected packaging (double boxing, thick bubble wrap and reinforced padding) specifically adapted for fragile art glass to ensure flawless receipt.
