Werkbeschreibung

“Yellow Boat” is a expressive abstract mixed-media work by Dieter Portugall. The composition thrives on the tension-filled interplay of strong black-and-white contrasts with bright yellow and ochre tones, fresh green as well as turquoise and blue.

The distinctive, almost architectural language of form recalls abstracted boats, houses, or maritime landscape elements. Here, bold color fields alternate with transparent-looking overlays, dynamic brushstrokes, and layered textures. The deliberately irregular design gives the work a lively, expressive effect.

The title “Yellow Boat” opens a maritime interpretive approach without definitively fixing the abstract imagery. It is precisely this openness that makes the work appealing and invites the viewer to discover ever-new forms and associations.

With its square format of 59 × 59 cm and the approximately 4 cm-deep canvas, the work makes an excellent standalone focal point in modern living spaces, lofts, or individually designed interiors.

The work combines expressive painting with a contemporary abstract visual language and speaks especially to lovers of color-rich, texture-rich art.
