Gothic Style Triptych - Silverplated, Wood - 1960-1970 - Giancarlo Livi (Florence) - Virgin Mary with the Baby Jesus - 46 cm

Refined and impressive travel/oratory religious triptych that opens like a book, of fine Italian artisanal craftsmanship from the second half of the 20th century (vintage). The supporting structure is made of dark solid wood and consists of three hinged panels housing three sterling silver plates finely worked in relief, with faces and hands finished in color with careful painting technique.

The work is set on the classic Byzantine and Orthodox Deesis (Intercession) model:
• Central Panel: Depiction of the Virgin Mary with the Child Jesus (inspired by the classic iconography of the Mother of God).
• Side Panels (Wings of the Triptych): Two important intercessor saints and Fathers of the Eastern Church in liturgical robes, captured in the act of holding sacred scrolls and Eastern liturgical texts.
The lower edges of the plates bear clearly visible legal art marks certifying authenticity and prestigious Tuscan provenance, specifically from the historic Florentine silversmith Giancarlo Livi (Paterna & Livi).
