Nicole Lubbers - Bevrijd

Nicole Lubbers is a Dutch visual artist from the eastern part of the country. Her work is characterized by an innovative and independent approach to abstract art, where painting, relief, and sculptural elements come together. With rich colors, layered structures, and diverse materials, she creates powerful works around themes such as resilience, movement, strength, and transformation.

Her international career has developed strongly in recent years. Lubbers was named Artist of the Year 2024 during the Belgrade Biennale, received the Institutional Award of the Municipality of Montecosaro, and placed second at the World Art Awards as Most Innovative Artist 2024. She was also listed among the 100 best female artists in the world and recognized as Master in Art.

Internationally, her work has been shown and scheduled for exhibitions in cities including New York, Venice, Florence, Belgrade, Belgium, China and Montecosaro, in addition to exhibitions in Dutch galleries.

A notable highlight is Beyond the Surface, a solo exhibition on Times Square in New York. In addition, Nicole collaborates with artist Michael Lam on the exhibition Harmony in Motion: Two Artists, One Vision. Here, Lam’s flowing Single Stroke Painting meets Lubbers’ expressive, layered structures. The color purple forms the connecting thread between two different artistic languages and symbolizes creativity, spirituality, and transformation.

Nicole Lubbers’ work is more than decoration. Her compositions invite contemplation of perseverance, growth, and overcoming challenges. Each piece forms a powerful and tangible statement that characterizes a space with its character, energy, and individuality.

In addition to her work as a visual artist, Nicole Lubbers is also known as a doll maker. Her artworks are delivered with a certificate of authenticity.
